The W595 ‘Darkside’ campaign really demonstrated there is nothing we can’t do. A viral video campaign (scripted & shot in-house) that you could personalize and pass onto your friends across all the popular social networks including MySpace, Facebook and the likes. Utilizing Facebook, Google Maps & YouTube API we created a kick-ass web application that to the user was as simple as ABC. Oh yeah, and we seeded it across the Web and watched it go viral. We let all those who needed to know that there was a cool Sony Ericsson photographic competition across; Facebook Groups, Flickr Groups, Photo, Mobile blogs and forums. They were all buzzing just see the results. Users joined our Flickr competition group uploaded new pictures tagged them with Sony Ericsson brand terms and then used our badge to promote their work and yes the competition / product itself to their peers on our behalf. The badge streamed their photos uploaded to the group, a cool little tool, and could be imbedded into a Facebook profile via an App or embedded in any webpage such as a blog. More
